An articulating concrete block (ACB) system is a matrix of individual concrete blocks placed together to form an erosion-resistant overlay with specific hydraulic performance characteristics. An Articulating Concrete Block (ACB) is a dry cast or wet cast unit used for erosion protection on channels, pipe cover on river crossings, boat ramps, bridge abutments, dikes and levees, and other applications.  ACB units must comply with the physical requirements of ASTM D6684, Standard Specification for Materials and Manufacture of Articulating Concrete Block (ACB) Revetment Systems. ACB units can be interlocking or cabled and can be installed by hand or with equipment. For more information review TEK 11-09
